Army "D" No Match for Soaring Eagles "O"

Chestnut Hill, MA The Army Black Knights and Boston College Golden Eagles squared off in what was a much tougher win than the statistics may show. The Black Knights did run for more yards than any other team Boston College has faced this season, 153 yards, but it wasn't enough to over come the running of Heisman hopeful Andre Williams.

Williams had himself a day, a short day, but a day that will only add to his Heisman candidacy. It only took 15 carries, but Williams gained 164 yards and added a score. "The dude's a tank," Eagles' left tackle John Wetzel told reporters. "You think you have him down, but he ends up 10 yards past your defense."

The Eagles struggled to start the game. On their first possession, the first play, QB Chase Rettig was sacked by Nate Combs for a 10 yard loss. On the very next play, Combs got to Rettig again, but this time knocked the ball loose, and Army recovered at the BC 10. Fortunately for the Eagles their defense came to play and held them to a field goal. "That set the momentum for us on the day. After the defense held their ground and didn't give up a touch down. It set us up for the rest of the game," QB Chase Rettig said.

Rettig had a easy day for the most part as he only threw 13 passes, completed 8 with 2 scores. The BC running game lead the way, to no surprise. For the third time this season, Boston college ran for over 300 yards in the game. As mentioned before, Andre Williams only played a quarter and a half due to injury. He did return, but for safety purposes he was pulled. Rolandan Finch played less than a quarter due to showing concussion symptoms. Then Tahj Kimble came in and had his second 100 yard rushing game.

Next week Boston College travels to the state of Pennsylvania to take on the surprising Pitt Panthers, who has beaten two ranked teams in Virginia Tech (8th) and Miami (22nd).
