Tennessee Tech is easy fodder for Bulldogs in 48-0 win

ATHENS, Ga. --- Despite the fact that their bye week was in Week 8, the Bulldogs got another mid-year respite yesterday in a matchup against Tennessee Tech. The game breaks up the SEC schedule as the team still faces Auburn and Kentucky before ending their regular season against the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets.

Tennessee Tech never had a chance in this game. They gained just seven first downs and 116 yards of total offense.

Joe Cox was impressive, throwing for four touchdowns in the easy win. Slot receiver Kris Durham had the game of his life with six receptions for 71 yards and two touchdowns.

Akeem Dent, Roderick Battle, and Bryan Evans each had a sack, and the trio combined for 19 tackles to lead the Georgia defense.

"We played a good game today, but I don't like this type of game because often times it results in the team putting their guard down right in the middle of SEC play," said Coach Richt. "We're not going to let that happen if we can help it."
