All Quiet in Week 6

Weekly Report Posted: November 13, 2024 06:52

No news has been reported this week.

Miami (OH) (0-3) has a C offense, a D+ defense, and is C overall. They are #66 in pts/gm, #8 in total offense, and #118 in total defense. We're #50 in pts/gm, #108 in total offense, and #4 in total defense. I expect a shootout in this one.

K Grant Williams starts this one off with a 27 yard FG. 3-0. QB Jason Shroeder finds WR Justin Bullocks on an 18 yard TD pass. 10-0. MU HB#24 goes 76 yards to cut the lead to 3.

QB Schroeder hits WR Brad Stephens on a 4 yard TD. 17-7. K Williams hits a 24 yard FG as time expires. 20-7 at half.

MU HB#24 scores on a 67 yard TD run. 20-14. MU QB#3 hits WR#2 on a 21 yard TD pass. 21-20 Red Hawks. QB Schroeder hooks up with WR Bullocks on an 11 yard TD pass. The 2 point conversion fails so the Headbangers are up 26-21. HB Maurice Mitchell is injured on the play and will miss the rest of the game. Ughh! MU QB#3 tosses an 11 yard TD to WR Jefferson. Their 2 point conversion fails so now the Red Hawks lead 27-26.

MU K Gibson boots a 23 yard FG with 4:58 left in the game to make it 30-26 Miami. K Williams hits a 31 yard FG after WR Kiel Jones almost had a TD on the play before, but he had been blasted out of his shoes. 30-29 Miami with 2:47 left. The defense gets a turnover and then QB Schroeder hits WR Bryan Hancock on a 20 yard TD pass and then he goes to WR Bullocks for the 2 point conversion. 37-30 with 1:37 left. The defense holds on 4 plays and gives the ball back to the offense in Miami territory. 2 delay of game penalties forces a 48 yard FG. It's, it's, it's... short by a few yards. ARGGHHHH!!!! MU QB#3 hits WR#4 on back to back passes in hurry and he scores on a 44 yard TD pass. 37 all with :20 left. The Red Hawks play man-to-man on first down so we have to go to our best receiver. QB Schroeder tosses it up for WR Henderson and he comes down with it. A run to the middle sets up a 20 yard FG by K Williams and after a stop on the ensuing kickoff, that's game! 40-37.

This one was pretty much what I expected. However, the defense failed again in the second half. We're still lacking some speed on defense and especially at linebacker with the absence of Pedro Myers. We've got to work on that to get better.
