Texas Runs Away From Lions
Texas jumed out to a big lead and never looked back. The Longhorns hung 51 points on the Lions. For the second straight year the Lions went undefeated and worked their way into the BCS Championship game and both times lost convincingly to their opponents.
"There is not much you can do, the better team won tonight, we just let them get ahead by too much too soon. We didn't have a chance to get back"
The game marked the return of injured Pat Devlin and Chris Bell, but the combo could not over come the big early deficit.
Both coaches thought the game would be a low scoring affair as both teams sported top 5 defensive units.
The Lions must will lose Bell, Quarless and Royster next year to graduation but will return some good wideouts and QBs Pat Devlin and Tom Wagner who filled in well for Devlin and was the top passer for the Lions.
This was the third straight loss for the Lions in bowl action
