Huskies blow Panthers Away 48-14

The Panthers had another tough game against Conference opponent Connecticut. Yet again, Bill Stull showed his poor quarterbacking as he threw 3 interceptions and was benched at halftime. Pat Bostick replaced Stull for the rest of the game. Bostick threw 2 picks but overall looked much better the Stull has ever looked. Bostick will remain the starting quarterback and will make his first start next week.

Coach Wannstedt in an ESPN2 Press Conference:

"He just wasn't getting the job done and we needed to pull the plug," Coach Wannstedt said about Stull's performance. "Bostick will remain the starter and will finish the remainder of the season and we will spend the next 5 days working with him in practice to get him to where he needs to be. We need improvement on offense. The defense is playing extraordinary and all we need is better linebacker coverage on teh short passing game and we'll be great. LaRod is playing well at runningback. All we need to do is work on the passing game."
"What really made you decide to pull the plug on Bill Stull?" an ESPN2 reporter asked.
"Having one touchdown pass in four games is no where near where we want to be at this point in time. All there is to do is look to next week and see how Bostick does with the 1st string."
