Pitt Finaly Wins as They Demolish UConn 42-17
Once again, Pitt were slated to win a game. Each time this has happened before they have fallen apart. This time the team was out there to prove that they can win on the road, in windy Connecticut.
Pat Bostick had thrown 8 touchdowns and 13 interceptions going into the game and he wanted to improve that. Well he did just that. Bostick led the Panthers to destroy the Huskies 42-17. Pitt had 5 offensive touchdowns as well as a special teams touchdown as they rode to a 6-4 record.
Here are the Top 3 Panthers Plays from the Game:
#3. Pat Bostick rolled out right midway through the 3rd quarter. He stopped his motion, set, and fired a sidearmed pass to Maurice Williams. Williams slid to his knees to make the play and score his 2nd touchdown of the game. Bostick had a career day with 3 touchdowns and no interceptions.
#2. LeSean McCoy also had a great game as he took a pitch to the left and went untouched 79 yards for the score. This was one of two rushing touchdowns for McCoy. McCoy was named Player of the Game.
#1. With 15 seconds to go, UConn decided to try an onsides kick. They kicked it right up the gut trying to catch Pitt off guard. It didn't work as the ball rolled to the weak side of the hands team. Cedric McGee picked up the ball and ran to the outside and all the way for a 53 yard onsides kick return for a touchdown. That is his first onsides kick return in his career.
