Back off from Cloud Nine
Florida showed that they are worthy of their #7 ranking by pounding Tennessee 42-21 thanks to four touchdowns from Z. Matthews. Tennessee did fight hard throughout the game and Jason Smith had a good day rushing against an A- rated defense.
If you take away those special team blunders, the game was a good battle. Tennessee's passing attack did rear it's head for a bit having a 40 yard touchdown strike. The real key to this game was the talent discrepancy. Tennessee was really lucky to be in this game by the end of the first quarter and holding UF to 7 points in the second half. Just shows the heart and desire of the team.
"The team played their hearts out, but we just don't have the depth like Florida has. Losses like this are painful, but if we can learn a lesson from it and get better then we have achieved something. We have defending SEC Champs Auburn next @ Jordan Hare so this September does not have a very kind ending to it." Said a calm coach Batten.
