Rolling the dice

Florida Atlantic was a pretty fierce foe for the Tennessee Volunteers. FAU raced out to a 31-17 lead at halftime, but some how Tennessee got it going and got it to a 44-45 deficit.

By far the play of the game was when Tennessee's coach Batten decided to go for two late in the fourth quarter. A Batten favorite, the option was called and Washington ran in for the two pointer. FAU was driving deep into Tennessee territory and then their halfback, S. Robinson, was knocked out cold by Fred Childs on a brutal hit to jar the ball loose. Lucky for Tennessee, Jonathan Brown was there to recover the football and seal a Tennessee victory!

"I want to say this team is a great bunch of kids to coach. They fight hard every play, give me the best effort they can give me. Some are wondering why we went for two late in the game, well I had to roll the dice and see if we could get lucky, lucky for me we got lucky. Great effort by everyone today." Said a happy Coach Batten.

With the win it gives Tennessee a three game win streak, and it was announced that the Tennessee-Florida game will be picked up on local CBS affiliates. Florida is ranked #7 in the land and beat Kansas State 26-21 earlier today. The game will make it the first time Tennessee will be on TV in 14 years!
