The Blazers won a tightly game against FIU in Miami on saturday. It was a close game the entire time, including a score-less first quarter in which we saw both defenses shine. That didn't happen long after the 1st though, as both teams would put up a combined score of 31 in the second quarter. The Blazer defense shutdown the FIU offense in the 3rd not letting points be scored. However, late in the 4th, after back to back TDs by the FIU offense including a 77 yard pass by James Morgan, it seemed that UAB's chances were over. Yet they were not, in just a 1:17 long drive, A.J. Erdely was able to drive down the field and throw a 15 yard TD pass to Xavier Ubosi in which after a big scare by FIU's offense would become the game winning throw. With that the UAB Blazers get another comeback win with this one against the Golden Panthers. The Blazers move to 4-3(2-1) and are just two games away from a possible bowl game apperance. Next week they will again travel, but this time to UTEP, who seems to be in a similar situation looking for a win to give them a confidence boost.
