Bama Makes Road Trip Business as Usual
#1 Alabama (2-0) has an A offense, an A+ defense, and is A+ overall. We are #1 in pts/gm, #5 in total offense, and #1 in total defense. #19 USC (0-0) has an A- offense, an A+ defense, and is A overall. Weather: Clear.
On USC's first play from scrimmage, SS Aaron Ferguson picks off the USC pass. On the following play, HB Tyler Doby takes it 45 yards for the score. Just like that, 7-0 Tide with only :12 gone in the game. QB Ricky Morris throws a 6 yard TD pass to TE Michael Lee, 14-0. K Anthony James boots a 20 yard FG to make it 17-0 at the end of one.
On 4th and 12 from the SC 36, Alabama goes for it. QB Morris throws a TD strike to WR Bryan Summers for the TD, 24-0. HB George Davis scores on a 7 yard TD run just before the half, 31-0.
HB Davis scores on a 51 yard run early in the 3rd, 38-0. K James hits a 45 yarder and then a 44 yarder to make it 44-0.
No scoring in the fourth quarter.
USC never recovered from the initial shock of the INT and then the immediate TD by the Tide. This makes it two in a row over the Trojans.
