Tide Survives Massive Scare from Jayhawks in Lawrence

Alabama enters the 2027 season without probably the greatest program in the history of its program, Tyler Doby. He graduated and his 8762 yards will be sorely missed. Alabama currently has 18 SEC Championships and 18 National Championships since I took over the program. Leading the Tide in 2027 will be QB Ricky Morris. He passed for 2380 yards in 2026 along with 29 TDs. Unfortunately, he had 17 interceptions too. I have a strong feeling we're going to need to rely on our defense a lot this season.

#2 Alabama has an A offense, an A+ defense, and is A+ overall. #23 Kansas has a B- offense, a B defense, and is B overall. Weather: Clear.

KU's Cook goes in from 2 yards out, 7-0 Jayhawks. FB Duane McClelland plows in from 2 yards out, 7-7. KU's Smith goes in from a yard out, 14-7 Kansas.

K Anthony James hits a 37 yard FG as time expires in the first half, 14-10 Jayhawks.

FB McClelland goes in from a yard, 17-14 Alabama with 3:59 left in the 3rd quarter. QB Corey Kendrick throws a 59 yard TD pass to WR Caleb Wallace, 24-14 Tide. KU QB Robison throws a 50 yard TD pass to Chavis and it's 24-21 Bama with :35 left in the quarter.

K James hits a 31 yard FG to make it 27-21 Tide with 1:32 remaining in the game. KU's Cook scores on a 71 yard TD run with 1:03 remaining to put the Jayhawks on top 28-27. QB Kendrick throws in the flat to HB George Davis and he takes it 61 yards for the TD with :35 left, but the 2 point conversion fails making it 33-28 Tide. LOLB Sam Smith picks off the Kansas QB to preserve this win.

This game was a hard fought victory and I was very surprised Kansas played us so tough. Our star WR Chris Coleman was knocked out of the game and will miss 4 weeks.
