Pine Bluff broke a scoreless tie late in the first period behind Derrick Meade's 102 yard interception return as Monroe was threatening. Despite the 40/80 mo-control sliders, Monroe was not able to do much offensively. Their only touchdown came on a 55 yard interception return as UAPB was working to pad their lead.
Mike Hale put on a masterful performance as he went 33 / 53, 333 yards, 4 TDs, 1 Int. He set a record for most completions in one game (33) in UAPB history. Hale spread the ball to six receivers. His favorite was Wiley Post who had 9 catches for 119 yards.
It's the 3rd time this season UAPB has held the opponent to 10 points.
