Louisville Runs Hog Wild Over Arkansas 49-14

The #8 Louisville Cardinals roasted the #7 Arkansas Razorbacks 49-14 at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. The Cardinals adopted a new offensive play book running the Wishbone and dominated the whole game.Sr. Louisville running back George Stripling scored 3 touchdowns in the new formation and running backs Anthony Allen and Brock Bolen both scored once.

The Cardinals had Arkansas defenders off balance by running pass plays out of the Wishbone hitting wide receivers Harry Douglas and Mario Urrutia deep down field when the Razorbacks would blitz.Arkansas couldn't seem to guess what was coming next with Louisville's new offensive attack.

Arkansas was missing their key running back Darren McFadden as he was sidelined with a foot stress fracture in week 5 and will miss 8 weeks.McFadden was approved early for a medical redshirt due to this injury.Arkansas went with the Sophomore Sensation Felix Jones to fill McFadden's starting spot and will remain the starter for the rest of the season.Felix Jones proved worthy by rushing for 103 yards on 14 attempts but was stopped short from scoring.

Arkansas QB Casey Dick through a 74 yard TD pass to wider receiver Chris Baker for the Razorbacks only touchdown of the game.Dick also converted a 2-point conversion pass to full back Peyton Hillis.Casey Dick had trouble hitting receivers as Louisville's DE Peanut Whitehead sacked Dick 5 times for a career high.

Louisville's QB Brian Brohm completed 10/16 passes for 265 yards with 1 td strike to Harry Douglas for 21 yards and also threw 2 interceptions.Harry Douglas now leads the nation as the top candidate for the Heisman Trophy.

"I'm honored that the world thinks I deserve to be the #1 candidate at this present time but Brian does most of the work leading the ball into the end zone."Harry Douglas commented to reporters after the game.

"I love the new play book Coach Linville has adopted running sweeps like crazy with me and Anthony out of the wishbone. This way we both get to carry the ball more often."George Stripling told a reporter after the game.

"We landed a big win tonight with the play book change and we also landed 2 five star recruits as well.Arkansas was a tough team to beat and we have to take the same intensity into next week against Cincy."Coach Moose Linville announced in a press conference after the win over #7 Arkansas.

The Louisville Cardinals are currently #5 after the win over The Arkansas Razorbacks who dropped to #14.The Louisville Cardinals 5-1 increased their win streak to 5 and will face unranked Cincinnati 4-2 at Cincinnati in a Big East rivalry game,The Battle For The Keg of Nails.More news at a later date.
