Terps Roll On, 56-15
COLLEGE PARK, MD - At the time Maryland scheduled Memphis, it looked to be a battle of conference powers as it would be the defending ACC Champs vs. the two-time Conference USA Champs. But Memphis struggled more than expected with an influx of young players and came into the game at 4-5. Maryland added to their troubles by handing them a humiliating 56-15 defeat.
Senior halfback Da'Rel Scott had possibly his most impressive performance to date, earning ACC and NCAA Offensive Player of the Week with 233 yards rushing on 21 carries and four touchdowns. Scott leads the NCAA in rushing and has climbed to 4th on the Walker Award list.
Jeremy Ricker struggled early in his first start, throwing 2 early interceptions on passes that probably should have been caught by the Terps. But he recovered to finish 13/20 for 248 yards and a TD.
Next week Maryland will face Boston College and look to hand the Eagles an 0-8 ACC Season.
ACC Notes: Virginia Tech clinched the ACC Coastal Division for the 3rd consecutive year with a victory over North Carolina. Both Wake Forest and Florida State finished out their conference schedules at 6-2.
