Maryland came away with a thrilling triple overtime win over rival Virginia behind the strength of freshman kicker Kyle Jordan's leg. Jordan hit all three of his OT field goal attempts in the Terps 36-33 win. The first sent the game to a second overtime locked up at 30. His second OT field goal gave the Terps a 33-30 lead and his final OT kick gave the Terps the walk-off win.

Senior Darrius Heyward-Bey re-announced his Heisman canidacy with a kick return TD in the 4th quarter which at the time seemed like a potential game saver. Virginia had just kicked a field goal to take a 16-14 lead and Heyward-Bey's return jump started the late action.
