Memphis has it's first win under head coach Oliver Prudence! Memphis' defense seem to be headed towards another pathetic performance but stepped up in the second half. As well the offense lead the win with 200 yards rushing. The offense managed a touchdown every quarter. In the first quarter, Gordon Clark led the team down the field, orchestrating the offense leading to a 5 yard run from half back Desi Carey. The team had 56 yards rushing along in this very drive. The second touchdown was the result from a short two play drive. Those two plays where passes to Keron Jefferson, one a short 9 yard slant, and the other a 67 yard pass for a touchdown. The third quarter touchdown also came at the hands of Keron Jefferson. This is time it came from an option from Clark, in which Jefferson ran 40 yards for the touchdown. The final touchdown was the clock killer type. The team was running the ball, and fullback Brandon Monroe took it in from one yard in. Defensively, the run defense, or lack thereof, showed again in the quarter in which Oklahoma State running back Tim Hayes ran for a total of 83 yards for a touchdown on the drive. However, then the defense put the clamps on the run game, and despite the lack of success in running the ball, the Oklahoma State coaches only called for 6 pass plays. And they would only complete 2, one to Ron Guerrero and one to a wide receiver. Hayes would run the ball 18 times for 112 yards. only 42 yards rest of the game. Clint Washington and David Smith continue to lead the team in tackles, with 5 a piece. Washington added a sack. Defensive end Leslie Woods had 2 sacks.
