Lions Handle Tar Heels
The Nittany Lions improved their record to 5-0 with a win over the #18 ranked Tar Heels 45-21. The game was close early but Penn State pulled away in the second half for the win.
The Nittany Lions scored the first points of the game with a 29 yard field goal from kicker Anthoney Fera. The Tar Heels answered with a 1 yard run from running back Droughn. After 1 quarter the Tar Heels led 7-3.
Penn State countered with a touchdown on a 2 yard run from Evan Royster. The Tar Heels struck right back with a 74 yard touchdown pass from Yates to Little from 74 yards out. This would be the end of he Carolina scoring for almost 2 quarters. Clark threw 3 straight touchdowns passes to Brett Bracket, Chaz Powell, and Justin Brown. At the end of the second quarter PSU led 31-14.
Penn State would add 2 more touchdowns in the third quarter. Clark ran 8 yards for an early 3rd quarter touchdown. After a Carolina punt Clark found Zug for another TD. After the third PSU led 45-14.
The Tar Heels would add a garbage touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Final score PSU 45, Tar Heels 21.
No news on the recruiting front but with multiple recruits visiting in the next couple of week, things should get interesting.
