Lions Throttle The Golden Gophers!

Penn State dominated Minnesota Golden Gophers yesterday 59-0. The game was not nearly as close as the score indicated. Penn State did not throw a pass in the second half.

The Lions opened the scoring up in the first quarter with a 74 yard run from Evan Royster. DarylClark found Graham Zug on there next possession from 5 yards out. Anthony Fera connected on a 33 yard field goal to end the first quarter scoring. PSU 17, Minnesota 0.

Clark found the endzone again in the second quarter. This time it was on the ground from 30 yards out. Jerome Hayes intercepted a tipped pass and took it back to the house for 23 yards out. Royster would break another big run of 59 yards after the Penn State defense held Minnesota to a punt. After another Gopher punt, Clark found Brett Brackett from 9 yards out. Score at the half PSU 45, Minnesota 0.

The third and fourth quarters were pretty boring as the Penn State defense continued to dominate the Gophers and the PSU offense just ran the ball the entire second half. Stephon Green, back from his injured ankle, scored for 1 yard out in the 3rd. Royster's final carry was 1 play into the fourth quarter and he scored from a yard out. PSU would hold the Gophers and run out the clock. Final score PSU 59, Minnesota 0.

On the recruiting front PSU landed the #2 ranked running back in the country from Adamsville, Alabama. Harvey Fuller runs a 4.38 forty yard dash. This is the second running back commitment Joe Pa has gotten this season.
