Fiesta Bowl Champs

Wyoming used the arm of Karsten Sween and the leg of Aric Goodman to defeat #3 Texas, secure its first ever BCS bowl win, and finish a magical undefeated season at 13-0.

"Coming in we knew that all eyes would be on Wynel. Our plan was to come in and throw the ball around a bit since we hadn't done that in quite a while. We had all the confidence in Karsten and he put us in a position to win. I would have liked to had a couple more touchdowns instead of field goals, but it turns out that's all we needed." Coach T said.

Sween, who had missed 2 games with injury and 2 with a suspension, came into the game having thrown only one interception all year- a far cry from the 2007 season he went through. Sween finished with 202 yards passing. Every time the team was in a tough situation, he found an open receiver to give the Cowboys a first down.

With the season over the Cowboys will lose some very important players from this team. HB Wynel Seldon will be missed as he was the playmaker for this offense. Also, WR/QB Kyle Jacobo finshes his career today for the Cowboys. A great athlete, Jacobo helped Wyoming by running, passing and catching. He will be greatly missed. Also, the Cowboys lose both starting safeties. Rogers and Ray were strong every week for Wyoming and finding the players to replace the two of them will be a tough task.
