GAME NOTES:

We were without our outstanding CB Garcia who was suspended for 3 games prior to this one.

Our defense gave up a big pass play for 73 yards and a touchdown on Ark-Pine Bluff's first possession of the game but after that they were able to settle down a bit and not give up any big plays after that holding the Golden Lions to just a FG at the end of the first half and giving up zero points in the second half.

Offensively we were pretty much able to run at will behind our offensive lineman. Those hogs up front really did any excellent job at opening up holes for Tony Campbell an Ian Davis. They also did a fine job at pass protecting as they didn't give up a single sack all game and overall the Golden Lions defense was hardly able to get into the backfield.

Special Teams wise our Punt Return and Punt Coverage teams really stepped up for this game. Even though we only punted the ball twice our coverage team gave up zero return yards. Cedric Smith returned a punt for 76 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter and had 108 yards total by the end of the game leaving the Golden Lions with just a total of 24 Net Punting Yards!

GAME BALLS:

Game balls this week go to the entire offensive line for their outstanding play in the trenches today.

Another game ball goes to Cedric Smith for his great punt returning performance today which included a 76 yard TD which helped us gain some crucial momentum in what was a close game at the time.

OVERALL:

Overall the team performed really well in this game. We were able to run and pass the ball and gave up zero turnovers. On defense we were able to force 3 turnovers and were able to shut down the Golden Lions rushing attack. We just need to focus on our passing defense which is our weakest link. Special teams were pretty close to being perfect today. So lets keep up this momentum for the next game and the games to come.
