What a Game!

GAME NOTES:

What a game! Seems like our game against Cornell was just a fluke because our defense came out playing like they have all year long. We gave up some big plays on Brown's opening possession and gave up our first rushing TD all year, a 12 yard rush by HB A.J. Patrick. Then on the very next possession we gave up a 73 yard TD run by the QB Larry Fulton. We came into the game with the number one ranked rushing defense only allowing 38 yards per game, we gave up 131 yards in this game. Their QB added 158 passing yards as well. We also gave up a 98 yard kick off return for a TD early in the 3rd Quarter.

Offensively we came out strong like we have almost all year. HB Tony Campbell took the first hand off for Yale 67 yards for a score and also added a 51 yard TD run before the 1st Quarter was over. In the end he rushed for 263 yards on just 9 carries and 5 TD's. QB Kellen Tucker passed well in the game going 9 or 14 for 144 yards but also threw an interception.

GAME BALLS:

Game ball goes to HB Tony Campbell for his stellar day running the ball. He probably could have rushed for a lot more but we kept him out for most the game.

ROLB Rodney Bush gets a game ball for his key interception early in the 3rd Quarter that he ran back 32 yards for a TD and helping to change the momentum in what was a close game at the time.

OVERALL:

Overall we did a fairly decent job. The offense played great but our defense went back to starting off slow. It was a real close game through the first half and that key interception back for a TD by Bush was crucial. Who knows how the game would have turned out if it weren't for that. Brown is a great football team and we were lucky to come out of that with a win. Now we have the out right lead in the Big East Conference so let's hope we can continue with this momentum.
