Tide Thoroughly Beats Down Pigs in Rain at Bryant-Denny

#11 Arkansas (2-0) has a B+ offense, an A+ defense, and is A overall. They are #33 in pts/gm, #44 in total offense, and #9 in total defense. #1 Alabama (3-0) is A+ across the board. We are #1 in pts/gm, #1 in total offense, and #1 in total defense. This game should prove if our offense is really explosive or not. The Razorbacks are always our early season test. I just hope it does not rain. Weather: Rain. DANG IT!!!

K Dennis Larkins chips in a 24 yarder, 3-0 Tide.

PR Matt Smith returns a Hogs' punt 62 yards for the score, 10-0. FB Tim Cox scores on a 2 yard run, 17-0. Late in the second quarter, QB Jesse Russ throws a quick screen pass to WR Joe Tyler, but he bobbles it. ARK's Jones picks it up and races 29 yards for a TD, 17-7.

FB Cox plows in from a yard out, 24-7. QB Russ throws a 3 yard TD pass to TE Neal Smith, 31-7.

K Larkins puts home a 24 yard FG, 34-7. QB Joe Carter goes deep for WR Gerald Davis and Davis hauls it in and races to the endzone for the 64 yard TD, 41-7. ARK's Richard scores against the backups on a 77 yard TD run, 41-14.

This game really wasn't as close as the final score indicates. We dominated Arkansas the entire game. Their only points in the first half came off one of our mistakes. Our WRs did not play well in the rain either. That's one reason why rain favors the Hogs. Their other TD came against our backups. As good as the Hogs looked on paper, they did not play up to our level on this day.
