Headed into the Orange Bowl the ACC overal as a whole had been doing pretty average. The only wins was NCstates win vs North Texas and Maryland defeating Oklahoma. So the Tigers had to earn some respect for the conference playing number 4 florida.

To start the gameoff the Gators went on a offensive tear.Qb Chris Leak threw for almost 300 yards in the first half. The tigers could barely do anything and once solid tribble reese was turning the ball over(2 int). Score at half was 21 florida,CU 10. What ensued was a major comeback.

Once the second half began clemson's offense started playing better and its secondary put the clamps down on alot of the florida recievers. Once again the running game was getting stuff. This is when Tribble Reese connect on a 5 yard slant play to chansi stuckey who took it the distance for a 70 yard touchdown. The Gator then went down and kicked a fg. Did i say tribble reese played bad in the first half. Well this half he was playing lights out. He connected on at least 3 plays that were longer than 40 yards. On of them was a 58 yard pass to whiteboy wr tyler grisham that lead to a 8 yard james davis touchdown run.

With the score tied headed into the 4Q, the once excited chris leak who sweats confidence must have been dehydrated because he threw two consecutive interceptions. The first one was converted into a 4 yard james davis touchdown(via a 50 yard pass to rendick taylor on a fly route on 3rd down). The 2nd interception put the nail in the heart as the tigers ran out the clock to get there first BCS bowl game win in the histor of the program. Tribble Reese though shakey in the first half ended up throwing for 435 yards braking the school passing record for a single game.

Clemson finished the season beating 4 ranked teams(3 of which were top 10 teams in the country). The tigers won the first ACC championship since 1992 and there first BCS bowl game. The Clemson Tigers finished 8th in the coaches poll and 6th in the media poll for the year.
