2006 Week 9

Well clemson coming off a big win vs georgia tech only had 4 days to prepare for undefeated virginia tech on a thursday night game in blacksburg. VT was also coming off a 34-14 win vs. Southern Miss. The biggest suprise of the day was the suspension of clemson widereciever chansi stuckey. It seemed after the Gt game he had, he decided he no longer needed to be at practice and screw off with his friends. Well coach bowden took care of business with a 2 game suspension which might hurt his draft stock. Anyways the game was tied 3-3 at the end of the first half.The biggest play of that half was with 20 seconds to go clemson blocked a fg to keep VT from taking the lead. Clemson eventually got a rushing touchdown in the 2nd half but tech answered with there own rushing touchdown one drive later. So basically it was back and fourth until clemson punted with 3 minutes to go in the game. Vt's wr David Clowney caught and returned the punt 92 yards for the touchdown,alluding about 4 defenders and several missed tackles to blow the game open. Clemson could never recover and vt kicked another field goal to expand the lead to 20-10.

The biggest bind for the tigers was the play of the offensive line. Will Procter who started out having a incredible season,the past 3 weeks has been rather average and todays game was rather abismal. Procter finished with 150 yards and 3 interceptions.
