The upset that almost was...
Colorado (1-1) has a B- offense, a B defense, and is B overall. They are #82 in pts/gm, #50 in total offense, and #32 in total defense. We're #5 in pts/gm, #32 in total offense, and #1 in total defense. I'm not sure we quite have the fire power to keep up with CU's running game.
K Grant Williams gets us on the board with a 38 yard FG. 3-0 Metal!
CU QB#7 options his way into the endzone on a 17 yard TD run. 7-3 Buffs. HB Maurice Mitchell goes in from 16 yards out. 10-7 Bangers! CU CB Strong picks a pass and returns it 91 yards for a TD. Crushing! 14-10 CU at the half.
No scoring in the third.
CU FS#15 picks a pass and returns it 79 yards for a TD. Game.
We were so close with this game. Three picks inside the opponent's 25 yard line killed us. QB Jason Schroeder didn't have the greatest game and TE#89 keeps friggin' dropping passes. So close, but yet so far.
