Game Notes

  • Freshman quarterback Josh Freeman suffered a broken finger in the second quarter and did not return. He is expected to miss 2-3 weeks.

  • Senior Dylan Meier filled in for Freeman and threw for a Wildcats' season high 213 yards. Meier completed 10 of 16 passes and threw two touchdowns with two interceptions.

  • Meier connected with senior receiver Yamon Figurs late in the fourth quarter on an 86 yard touchdown pass. Figurs finished with 115 yards on three receptions. He was the first K-State player since Jermaine Moreira to surpass 100 yards receiving (101 vs. Texas A&M 10/22/05).

  • Junior receiver Jordy Nelson left the game in the first half and did not return. X-rays showed a dislocated elbow and he is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

  • Senior receiver Jermaine Moreira tied a Wildcats' season-high with six catches and posted the season's second best yardage total with 91.

  • Junior receiver Daniel Gonzalez caught his first three passes of the season for a total of 61 yards.

  • Senion tailback Thomas Clayton ran for 84 yards on 18 carries. He now has 1,081 rushing yards on the season, becoming only the seventh player in K-State history to rush for 1,000 yards. Clayton also became the fastest Wildcat runningback to reach 1,000 yards, doing it on only 128 carries (159, Darren Sproles, 2002) and in eight games (9, Darren Sproles, 2004).

  • Junior cornerback Devin Anderson intercepted two passes, tying him for the team lead with three.

  • Sophomore defensive end Ian Campbell recorded a sack in his fifth straight game, giving him eight on the season. Those eight sacks rank second in the Big 12 and tied for third nationally.

  • K-State allowed 100 yards rushing (105) for the third time this season, all losses.

  • The Wildcats threw for 300 yards (301) for the first time since throwing for 357 in a 30-28 loss to Texas A&M 10/22/05.

  • The three interception thrown by K-State quarterbacks (meier two, Freeman one) was the second straight game and only second time this year they have thrown multiple interceptions.
