Spiders Rout Aztecs
A key conference game turned into a complete rout as Richmond rolled over San Diego State, 70-7. The Spider defense set the tone early. On SDSU's first possession, Caleb Dickson knocked the ball loose from the scrambling quarterback and Willie Kidd recovered. Richmond drove to score in 9 plays. Not to be outdone by his freshman roommate, linebacker Tholio Nokkums came around on a blindside sack and swiped the ball away from the QB; Kidd was right there to pick it up and run 44 yards to double the Spider lead. That got the whole team fired up. Buck Roberts was seeing the deep routes open up, Joel Robinson was running like a man possessed, and Robert Swoopes returned two punts for touchdowns.
Tholio highlighted once more when he tipped and intercepted a pass to set up Richmond's final score.
After the game, 2 prospects signed letters of intent to attend Richmond.
