The loss that hurts
Tennessee had seen Kentucky take a 21-0 halftime lead, but only to fight back and tie it 21-21 with 6:33 left in the fourth quarter. Time was running down for Kentucky as they punched in the winning touchdown with 0:54 left in the game.
Tennessee got the ball back and managed to get only one pass completion in four attempts. On the final down of the play Tennessee's Chris Davis threw a lame duck pass to the endzone that fell incomplete.
"This loss especially hurts. We had fought hard to the bitter end, but just couldn't stop them from winning. We had a shot to win the game but Davis had a horrible overthrown pass to the endzone. We finish 6-5 so that gives us another winning season." said a deflated Coach Batten.
