Georgia limped into this contest with Tennessee at 0-5. Tennessee had all the confidence in the world coming in at 3-1. Georgia looked lost in the first half and Tennessee took advantage racing to a 24-8 first quarter lead in a half-full Sanford Stadium.

Justin Smith was once again a hoss for the team having 266 yards rushing. Mark Mitchell suprised everyone throwing for 218 yards and 3 touchdowns. The best play of the day was when Zach Bryant knocked out sophmore QB C. Merrick at the end of the game.

"I am pretty pleased with the effort we gave today. They wanted to knock UGA out of bowl eligibility and they did a fine job of that. Next up is a tough battle down in Oxford, CBS has already said they are going to nationally broadcast this one, so that will help our recruiting again." Said an elated coach Batten.
