2024 Week 10

South Carolina beat Tennessee like a red-headed stepchild for the past 13 years. Tennessee has been dismantled by South Carolina during those 13 years. What would be the outcome of a rainy ESPN televised night game in Columbia for the #13 ranked Gamecocks?

The game was going in Carolina's favor at the end of the first quarter being tied with Tennessee 10-10, which was nothing new to Carolina. Then in the second half something odd happened, Carolina stopped playing football. For some reason Carolina's special teams unit forgot about McIntosh has he danced and pranced around the unit to race in for a quick touchdown. Throw in the fact Mitchell hit Justin Smith on an ungodly 54 yard touchdown pass and you have a 27-10 lead at halftime.

Tennessee quickly took the punch out of Carolina in the 2nd half by shutting down Carolina and adding 10 points to to the lead and made it 37-10 by the end of the fourth quarter. Carolina tried to have an answer for Justin Smith but they decided that it would be best for Justin to have a 33 carries, 283 yard day.

"It feels good to get the 12 year monkey off our back. I think we responded well after the Alabama loss. Carolina had the big head coming into the game when they got a quick 3-0 lead, they started prancing around and celebrating and acting as if the game was over. We need one more win to be bowl eligible and homecoming with 1-7 Notre Dame I think we can pull one out for the home crowd."
