2008 Week 16

We knew we could be in trouble when coming out during the pre-game, we saw inches of snow on the field in Kansas City, something that a team used to playing in the hot state of Texas knows nothing about. In the end, the snow played little factor in the outcome, a 30 second span in the 4th qtr changed the game and was the deciding factor.
A back & forth game went to the 4th qtr with Nebraska having a 38-35 lead, but Baylor had the ball. Driving the length of the field, we had a 1st & goal with about 5 mins left, ready to take the lead or atleast tie the game. That's when our dream season began to crumble. Guy Wright, who all season long had been so accurate & preicise passing, made a big mistake, throwing late over the middle of the endzone to TE Ryan Marshall. CB Keith Foreman jumped the route, picked off the pass, outran Marshall and the rest of the team untouched 101 yards for a huge momentum swinging TD & a 10 pt lead. Any shot of a late heroic comeback was killed on Baylor's next play from scrimmage. Wright hit WR Quieto Teasley on a crossing route & he got walloped & fumbled the ball. DE Barry Turner scooped up the ball & ran in for the game clinching TD, his 2nd fumble return TD of the day & 3rd defensive TD for the Blackshirts.
Coach Juggs tried his best to rais his team's spirits in his post-game speech by saying "how proud he was of the season the team had", "that they had the best season in Baylor school history", "that they were still going to a major January bowl game", & "that we're younr & we'll be back next year holding the Big 12 trophy".
