Dillon, TX - Smash Williams ran for a record 230 yards as the Dillon Tech Tigers (5-3) easily defeated the Florida Atlantic Owls (4-5) at Dillon Stadium. It was enough to give Williams over 1000 yards rushing on the season and also making it two consecutive thousand yard seasons for the Dillon, Texas native. The win also solidified Dillon Tech's position at the top of the Sun Belt Conference.

Dillon Tech opened the scoring when Matt Saracen found Travis Lowery for a 16 yard touchdown reception early in the first quarter. Dillon Tech extended the lead in the second quarter when Saracen found tight end Alex Lewis wide open down field for a 60 yard touchdown strike. The Owls responded with a Jeff Van Kemp touchdown pass with only 3 seconds left before the half. However, on the ensuing kickoff Travis Lowery returned the kick 100 yards for the score with no time left on the clock to put the Tigers up 22-7 at the half.

In the third quarter Mike Rogers caught a 19 yard touchdown pass from Matt Saracen and Tim Riggins added another score to put the Tigers up 36-7 after three quarters.

The Owls responded with two A.Morris touchdowns in the fourth quarter but it was not enough as the Tigers sealed this one after touchdowns by Mike Rogers and Smash Williams late in the fourth.

Several highly touted recruits were on hand for this game and it will be interesting to see how impressed they were with this big victory.
