Dillon, TX - Matt Saracen threw for 369 yards and 5 touchdowns as the Dillon Tech Tigers (7-3) survived a late surge by the visiting Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders (6-3) in a match up that featured the top two teams in the Sun Belt Conference. Equally impressive was the play of Blue Raiders quarterback Dwight Dasher as he threw for 336 yards and 6 touchdowns. With the victory, the Tigers clinched their first conference title as a member of the Sun Belt Conference.

The Tigers got on the board early when Matt Saracen connected with Travis Lowery for a two yard touchdown reception. The Raiders responded with a 5 yard run from Dasher to tie things up at 7.

In the second quarter running back Brian Williams scored on a 73 yard run and followed that up 3 yard touchdown reception a few possessions later. The Raiders responded with touchdown pass by Dasher and they also added a field goal as they went into halftime trailing 24-17.

In the third quarter the Tigers added two more touchdowns as Matt Saracen connected with Tim Riggins and Travis Lowery to give the Tigers a 38-17 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Things got interesting in the fourth as the Raiders scored on three consecutive possessions to pull within 10 points of the Tigers late in the game. The Tigers then added another touchdown as Matt Saracen found Jared Howell for a 5 yard touchdown completion. The Raiders added another touchdown on a pass from Dasher but it wasn't enough as the Tigers were able to run out the clock on the following possession to end the game with a 48-45 victory.

The Tigers will be traveling to Arkansas State next week as they hope to close out the regular season with a seventh consecutive conference victory.
