2010 Week 4

Dillon, TX - The Tigers got their first win of the season behind the arm of quarterback Matt Saracen who threw for 378 yards and 4 touchdowns. He exposed the North Texas secondary throughout the game and was able to get his receivers the ball in open space.

North Texas got on the board first with a field goal after driving down the field in the opening quarter. The Tigers responded with a field goal of their own to tie things up, followed by a 41 yard touchdown strike from Saracen to Dan Edmonds on the team's ensuing possession. The Tigers then added two more field goals to go up 16-10 at the half.

In the third quarter Saracen found Travis Lowery streaking down the sideline for an 18 yard touchdown and then followed that up with a 60 yard touchdown pass to Tim Riggins a few possessions later.

North Texas made a late comeback in the fourth quarter with a couple of touchdowns but the Tigers put that attempt to rest when Saracen connected with Jared Howell on 25 yard touchdown pass.

"Our receivers did a great job getting open and making plays after the catch," Said Mike Leach after the game. "Getting Smash back for this game really helped things open up for our offense and made things easy out there for Matt."

The Tigers have a big week of preparation this week as they travel to Alabama to face the Trojans of Troy State next Saturday.
