Week 8 2012

Harvard Crimson
vs
Columbia Lions

Box Score1st2nd3rd4thFinal
Columbia 21 10 3 6 40
Harvard 14 7 14 0 35

IT WAS A DONE DEAL WHEN...
Sophomore WR T.J. Simons dropped a 4th and 10 pass from QB John Powell. He was streaking down the sideline for what looked to be a long pass, but he let it slip out of his hands. We turned it over on downs with about a minute left, and we never saw the ball again.

GAME BALLS
OLB Greg Walker had a sack and 2 forced fumbles. One of the few bright spots on a day when our defense got abused by Columbia and their true freshman halfback Roshaun Peterson (who is a real burner, by the way). ... WR Karl Bush caught 6 balls for 116 yards and 2 touchdowns.

KEY STATISTICS
Thanks to a couple missed field goals and a turnover, we came up with zero points from our 3 trips into the redzone on offense. Just those two field goals would've been crucial. Those rare misses by K Casey Gipson ended up being a key component of our loss.

NOTES
The loss drops us into a tie with Brown for the conference lead. But we still hold the tie-breaker on them since we beat them.
