Wildcats Win Snowfest; Lose Another Defensive Starter
Despite losing Eric Peterman for the remainder of the season with a broken jaw, increasing the number of injured Wildcat starters to 3, the Northwestern Wildcats, who went 4-8 under Pat Fitzgerald, are only 1 victory away from a .500 season, following their 21-9 victory over the Hoosiers of Indiana University.
Eric Peterman suffered his injury on the kickoff after Northwestern took the lead on a Andrew Brewer to Brandon Roberson Touchdown. Peterman joins fellow defensive starter Deante Battle, as well as Impact Player Tyrell Sutton on the injured list.
The Wildcats dominated the Hoosiers saturday, possession the ball for over 17 of the 28 total minutes. Brandon Roberson, who was named player of the game, had a fantastic day, with 2 touchdown's (1 rushing and 1 receiving), 35 receiving yards to go along with 114 rushing yards, and 30 touches.
The Wildcats broke the game open after scoring 21 straight points in the second and third quarters, following a 51 yard field goal by Aaron Starr in the first for the Hoosiers.
"I'm proud of how the team played today. After losing another starter, they hung in there and picked up for the lost talent. Hopefully we can close out this season with a win at Illinois," said Coach Taylor.
