A Spartan Sized Beatdown of the Sutton-less Wildcats

And you thought losing 55-16 was enough. But, it looked like the college football gods had something else in mind.

Like ending any hope remaining in Northwestern's season.

A season-ending injury to your top offensive player can do that.

"You have no idea how bad I feel for Tyrell. As he was walking off the field with assistance from our training staff, he just looked at me, and said, 'Sorry, Coach.' Things like this shouldn't happen to great kids like that," said a remorseful Coach Taylor.

To add insult to injury (no pun intended), the Spartans would put up 52 straight points, many off of CJ Bacher's 5 first half interceptions, before Andrew Brewer was brought in as the second-half quarterback.

"You could tell the life of this team just left the stadium. They were looking forward to having a real chance of getting their first conference win on the road. A loss so severe that early in the game just changes your whole mindset."

Sutton took a delayed handoff from QB CJ Bacher early in the first, and was met by Nehemiah Warrick. Sutton would lay motionless on the field until the training staff attended to him.
