Out Of Our Hands

The post-season fate is now out of the hands of the Northwestern Wildcats.

After their 40-27 victory against the Fighting Illini of Illinois, the Wildcats have completed a 10-2 regular season, with a 7-1 conference record. This, however, might not be enough to warrant a Rose Bowl Bid, but hopefully it will be enough to get the Wildcats their first ever BCS Bowl.

The Wildcats dominated the Illini, although it may not seem so from the statistics. Jamaal Richardson was only 13 of 32 passing, but had 3 Touchdown's to 1 Interception on Senior Day in Evanston. Stephen Simmons had 18 carries for 51 yards, and Carl Fisher had 67 yards on 4 receptions.

The story of the day on offense was Isaac Floyd, who had 4 receptions for 120 yards and 2 Touchdowns of 71 and 13 yards. Floyd also had 2 carries for 18 yards.

The defense also performed admirably, getting 7 sacks on Illini Quarterback Phil Haig.

After the conclusion of their season, with 1 more week for a majority of the teams in the country, including Wisconsin, the Wildcats are ranked #8 in the BCS, 1 spot ahead of the Badgers.
