Jekyll and Hyde
Will the real Jamaal Richardson please stand up?
In Saturday's schlacking of the Mountaineers of West Virginia, Jamaal Richardson, who was fresh off a 1 TD:5 INT performance, had one of the best days as a Northwestern Quarterback under Coach Andrew Taylor. Richardson threw from 313 yards on 26 attempts, and had 4 Touchdowns, 3 of which were to Sidney Stewart, to only 2 Interceptions.
"We really liked this kid when he came out of Junior College. While through the 2 games he's started so far he's been inconsistent, I think he's warming up to the college game. While I think his actual playing level is somewhere in-between the 2 performances, we'll have to wait and see. The Tigers will be a good test for him in two weeks," said Coach Taylor about his starting Quarterback.
Stephen Simmons had another disappointing day, only gaining 47 yards on 19 carries. Erik Humphrey provided a good spark to the running game however, averaging 4.7 yards per carry on the 10 carries he received.
True-Freshman Middle Linebacker Eric Ivey had a fantastic day following his collegiate debut, gathering 11 tackles, 5 of which were for a loss, and his first sack.
