Spiders Roll
It didn't take long for Richmond coaches to figure out San Diego's offense: Adrian Taylor. The junior quarterback called his own number in each play of the opening drive, running, scrambling, and passing his team to a 3-0 lead. Richmond decided to take Taylor out of the game and see how the Aztecs responded.
They responded by folding. And Buck Roberts scored 4 times, twice with his legs and twice with his arms, leading the visiting Spiders to a commanding 34-10 victory.
It was reported in local papers the next day that Random Jones and Sporty Sparks were taken into custody for involvement in a brawl in Tijuana. Both players have been benched for the rest of the regular season but would be eligible to play in a bowl game. Jones was leading Bilenikoff balloting and Sparks was 3rd in Thorpe balloting at the time of their arrests.
The Spiders travel to #7 Tennessee next week, then host New Mexico in their final game of the season. There will be 5 prospects in the stands for the New Mexico game.
