Utah State was down 3 with under 2 minutes left in the game and was driving for the game winning field goal when McCormick pass to the flat was intercepted and returned 67 yards for a TD. The Aggies never recoved on loset 38-28.

Coach McGriffle had the following to say following the game. "We played hard for 3 quarters and had a chance to win the game in the 4th quarter. McCormick is young still just a sophmore. We will recover from this. This won't be our downfall."
