Shutout #5

For the fifth consecutive game, the Wyoming Cowboys have won by way of a shutout. The defense held Kansas State, which was the #4 rushing offense in the country coming into the game, to only 22 yards on the ground and 72 total yards, and finished with yet another goose egg on the scoreboard.

Oh by the way, the offense didn't disappoint either. Piling up 499 yards of offense and 56 points, Wyoming amassed 228 of their yards on the ground led by SR Darius Terry who had 122 yards and 2 TD on only 10 carries. Rossner added 47 yards and 2 scores while JRs James Davis and Jake McMahan each added a TD.

The air attack was led by Ronald Holden who finished with 68 yards on 4 receptions and a score. 7 different receivers caught a pass again Saturday, and so far in every game this season at least 7 different receivers have caught at least one pass -- a remarkable stat. FR James Noa had the other Cowboy score through the air which came in the 4th quarter on a strike from Will Jefferson.

On the defensive side of the ball, MLB James Rice led the way with 7 tackles, David Guidry finished with 5 tackles for loss, including 4 QB sacks. and CB Jared Killpack added two more interceptions to give him 5 on the year. James Noa also added 7 special teams tackles, a season high.
