Tide Shows No Mercy, Beats Tennessee 51-0
Alabama welcomed the Volunteers in to town this weekend to continue this border rivalry full of hatred. The Tide sent them home with their tail between their legs in Alabama's first shutout victory of the season.
The defense had an outstanding day with the secondary and the front seven. The secondary compiled for 4 INT's and only allowed Tennessee to complete 30% of their passes. The front seven combined for 15 tackles behind the line of scrimmage including 6 sacks.
The offense had a good day on the ground and in the air. Upchurch carried the bulk on the ground today with 101 rushing yards and 2 TD's. Heisman candidate Julio Jones had a good day catching the ball for 100+ yards and 2 TD's.
Alabama will be off next week as they prepare for another rival coming to town, LSU. The Tiger's have been sliding this year but that doesn't mean Coach Perry and the Crimson Tide will be underestimating them. This will be Alabama's last home game of the year before they go on a 3 week road trip against Miss State, USC, and Auburn.
