Tide Rolls; Lose Reamer for Season, Ingram for 3 Weeks

Alabama came into Oxford and rolled through what is now considered an overrated Ole Miss team. But in the process of their big win, the Tide lost starting OLB Cory Reamer for the season and starting HB Mark Ingram until the LSU game in 4 weeks. Jerrelle Harris stepped in for Reamer and was pretty quiet until the 4th quarter when he recorded one of the defense's many sacks off an inside blitz. Roy Upchurch stepped in for Ingram from his part time role and rolled through the defense getting 100+ yards and 2 TD's.

The offense overall was effective but the defense had to bail them out after some careless fumbles. Greg McElroy made no mistakes and got 2 key TD's. Julio Jones recorded his 2nd overall and consecutive 100+ receiving yards game. And with the way this offensive line is improving along with first-year starter McElroy, their may be many more.

Snead passed for over 200 yards but even with that you gotta give the W to the defense. 40 plays that he dropped back: only had 15 completions, 13 incompletions that include an INT, he rushed back to the line of scrimmage one time for 0 yards, and he was sacked 11 times. That is the definition of domination. The rushing game wasn't any better for the Rebels. Bolden only rushed for 29 yards while all others that attempted but the Ole Miss rushing total in the negative.

Next week the Tide returns home to face a surging South Carolina team that has a lot of youth and could be forced into mistakes.
