Tide Gets Some Help On Defense

October 28, 2009

Of all the seniors Bama will lose after this season, over half are on defense and most are starters. Coach Perry gave a sigh of relief today when to of their top defensive recruits committed.

Georgia has become quite a pipeline for Alabama with Swainsboro native, Hiram Watkins giving a solid verbal this week. Watkins is a quick 4 star CB who may be called upon to play early with Alabama already loosing 3 senior CB's and the fact that junior Kareem Jackson could very well go pro after this season.

In his first season Coach Perry knew what he wanted to recruit and even went in uncharted waters to find it. 4 star DE Kendrick Brown is in another position that needs help and depth right away. If he could show maturity early on, we may see him on the field a good bit next season.

Both recruits were at the Tennessee game this past week and they saw that Alabama had a great defense, but they also saw the amount of seniors in each of there respective positions and decided this is where their talents are not only wanted but needed.
