IT WAS A DONE DEAL WHEN
K Casey Gipson kicked his 2nd field goal to give us a 10 point cushion in the 4th quarter. Brown tacked on a garbage-time touchdown (which we responded to by recovering the onside kick and kicking a garbage-time FG), but it was pretty much over once we went up 20-10.
GAME BALLS
HB David Taylor played great, as usual, running over the defense. ... SR CB Jason Mason turned in another brilliant effort with 2 interceptions and 4 passes deflected.
KEY STATISTICS
We dominated play for most of this game, really. The only reason is was this close was because of our mistakes on offense inside the redzone. We went into the redzone 6 times and only scored 1 TD and 2 FGs (we threw some picks down there).
NOTES
Freshman RB Lionel Morrison saw his first action of his career, coming in in the 4th quarter once we had a bit of a lead and we gave David Taylor the rest of the night off (to stay healthy with some tough contests coming up against Columbia, Navy and Yale). ... HB David Taylor now owns four of the top five single-game rushing performances in our record book. ... With 5 INTs through only six games, CB Jason Mason is on pace to challenge Andre Berry's single-season team record of 10 interceptions (set in 2007).
