IT WAS A DONE DEAL WHEN
QB John Powell left the game with a pinched nerve in the 3rd quarter. We were tied 14-14 and Powell was playing well (despite the early interception). At that point, our offense lost its zip. Senior QB Tony Williams came in, but the whole offense was out of sync with him at the helm. Mississippi State an to an easy victory after the game had been so close earlier.
GAME BALLS
FS Kevin Coleman forced 2 fumbles in his final game. ... ILB Leon Neal forced one and recovered one. ... Freshman QB John Powell was solid for us, completing 15/22 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown.
KEY STATISTICS
Our defense took the ball away 5 times, but our offense kind of undid all those good plays by turning it over 4 times themselves.
