2009 Week 3

Iowa (1-0) is A+ across the board. They are #37 in pts/gm, #47 in total offense, and #7 in total defense. We have a C offense, a C+ defense, and we're C+ overall. We are #30 in pts/gm, #65 in total offense, and #1 in total defense. This is a huge test to see if we're ready to compete for the National Championship.

Iowa QB#10 throws a bomb to WR Holmes for a 76 yard TD. 7-0 Hawkeyes. QB Jason Schroeder answers that TD with one of his own of 63 yards to WR Jon Smith, 7-7.

Iowa K Howard boots a 46 yard FG, 10-7 visitors. HB Maurice Mitchell takes one in from 5 yards, 14-10 Metal. K Donte Botts boots a 32 yard FG, 17-10 Bangers.

Iowa K Howard hits a 27 yard FG after a Schroeder fumble, 17-13. Iowa PR Veach returns a punt 69 yards for a TD, 20-17 Hawks. QB Schroeder hits WR Justin Bullocks for a 15 yard TD pass, 24-20 Heavy Metal!

Iowa K Howard kicks a 31 yard FG, 24-23 with 2:26 left. QB Schroeder finds WR Zach Collins for a 73 yard TD pass as he beats two Iowa defenders for the score, 31-23 with 1:35 left. Iowa QB#10 throws a 66 yard TD pass to WR Holmes as he shrugs a Headbanger defender. They go for two and the pass to HB#24 is good for the conversion. 31-31 and we head to OT.

Iowa wins the toss so we go on offense first. Three incomplete passes later, K Botts hits a 43 yard FG to put us up 34-31. Iowa gets the ball, but is immediately sacked on first down for a loss. On second down they throw a screen pass that is eaten up by the corner for another loss. On third down a sack looses Iowa even more yardage. 4th and 28 from the 43 to stay in the game. A pass to the TE and he is leveled and that's your ball game. YES!!!!
