Things didn't start well for the #1 Crows in their home opener against the team they booted from the Big Ten lo these many years ago. The Illini tossed a 77-yard TD pass to get us going. But that didn't last long. HB Delmar Coffee followed with a couple of 1-yard TD runs and QB Clarence Oveur hit WR Donfredale Harper with a 45-yard TD pass. At the end of one, HMU led 21-7. Ten more Crow points in the third and three TD passes from Oveur to WR Lance Day in the fourth made it a 52-7 shellacking of Illinois. Next up for the Crows is a home date with Kent State.
