Apparently pasting the Hoosiers 90-14 is enough to get you down to #2 in the nation. Huh? The 7-0 Crows (3-0 Big Ten) welcome the #18 Badgers of Wisconsin (4-2, 2-2). Wisky looks pretty good to start things off, but stalls late and misses a 45-yard field goal. Wisconsin cashes in on the next drive, taking a 7-0 lead on a 34-yard TD run. HMU follows with a Jerome Sherman field goal before the end of the first. The same Badger ball carrier blasts away for a 63-yard score early in the second, but the PAT is missed. Badgers up 13-3. Another Sherman field goal and a very nice Delmar Coffee 45-yard TD run tie it up at the half. Early in the third, LB Sam Van intercepts an errant Wisconsin missive and takes it 74 yards for a 20-13 Crow advantage. The backup Badger halfback does the damage on the next drive, scoring on a 58-yard scamper to tie it up at 20 halfway through the third quarter. Little known freshman corner Junior Stone has been returning kickoffs all year in an effort to fulfill a playing time promise. Stone took the ensuing kickoff 91 yards to pay dirt and what turned out to be the final score of the game in a hard fought 27-20 Crow win. The 8-0 Henry Mortonians take a week off before traveling to West Lafayette to take on a disappointing Purdue squad.
